Researchers find Mercury's radius has shrunk by over 10 kilometers, more than previously estimated

A Japanese research team has determined that the planet Mercury's radius has contracted by more than 10 kilometers since its formation, a significantly larger amount than earlier models suggested. The findings come as the Japan-Europe BepiColombo mission is set to arrive at the planet.
